This post title links to a website I'm creating to report on the sessions I attended. It's still in progress and I'll be adding a page for Exhibitors too. If you want to send me a brief blurb on sessions you attended or links to handouts I'll add them to this site.
The website was made with Weebly, a free tool to create websites. It's very easy - much like a blog with Designs and Page Layouts to choose from. Check it out at weebly.com.

Virtual Motor Skills - new software from Judy Lynn Software
This program is "designed to give the user with limited motor skills the virtual experience of performing tasks by picking up, putting down, and moving objects around using 1 or 2 switches, a mouse click, or the computer keyboard. In many of the activities, the user controls a life-like hand to complete tasks such as picking up colored pegs and placing them in their matching colored slots."

A flier will be distributed to special ed directors soon.

AAC Implementation Toolkit
Our DynaVox rep was here last week and showed us this section on the DynaVox website.
Communication Partner Techniques has several videos and handouts. The AAC Goal Grid can be used for both evaluation and progress monitoring. The Chain of Cues section has resources helpful for anyone who interacts with an AAC User.
If you are working with someone that uses an AAC device, this looks to be a very helpful resource!

AT Reviews
While updating our list of Device Descriptions I came across this site that has several reviews of common AT products. Their review of the L*E*O is very comprehensive and can be found in the Review Archive section. Current reviews are in the What's New section.
We've written basic Device Descriptions for use in our reports. I'll be posting that document as soon as we get it re-organized.

Revised agenda
I've revised the agenda for 3/27. We have to return the Vantage Light before the meeting but the EUP ISD will be bringing a Kindle 2 to show. See you then, or next week at MACUL.
Kindle 2 to be highlighted at March meeting

L*E*O live webinar
There is a live webinar on the L*E*O communication device on Thursday, April 9th. This post titles links to their website. Many of you will be on spring break so I asked the company if they'll be recording the webinar and that is yet to be determined. It depends on the quality of the session.

FCTD: Family Center on Technology and Disability
If you haven't visited this site, it's another awesome resource! It operates through support from the Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). Resources include powerpoint presentations on AT and archived newsletters. This month's newsletter is on Implementing AT in the classroom. FCTD also hosts month-long online discussions on a variety of topics. The Resources section on the FCTD website has searchable reviews of AT resources.
